Job summary

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an individual to join the Special Feed Unit at Birmingham Children's Hospital. You will prepare specialist feeds for inpatients under the supervision of Dietitians, ensuring accurate weighing and strict hygiene.

The role requires good literacy, numeracy and effective communication. Prior experience in large-scale catering or healthcare catering is welcomed; part-time 26.25 hours per week on a rota, with weekend duties.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent at grade 4 or above including Mathematics and English Language.
• Ability to interpret numerical information.
• Ability to weigh and measure feed constituents accurately.
• Competent IT skills including use of email and internet.

Responsibilities

• Prepare special feeds for inpatients according to Dietitians' regimes.
• Weigh and measure feed constituents accurately and adhere to recipes.
• Maintain strict hygiene protocols to ensure feeds are safe for vulnerable patients.
