Job summary

Unique School Solutions are supporting a large secondary school in the S8 area of Sheffield to appoint an EAL Teaching Assistant who can support KS3 and KS4 learners with English as an Additional Language. The role is based in the classroom under the direction of the teacher and starts September 2026, with a potential permanent position after 12 weeks.

Working hours are Monday–Friday, term time only, 8am to 4pm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a school or similar setting with young people aged 11-16.
• Ability to build rapport with young learners.
• Ability to work under the direction of the class teacher and use own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support KS3 and KS4 students in class under teacher direction.
• Work across the school to assist students, particularly those with English as an Additional Language.

£120 per day

Contract type: Temp - perm following 12 weeks successful temporary placement

The role is to start ASAP in September 2026 and for the right person could lead to a permanent job after 12 weeks.

Essential requirements for the role:

• Previous experience working within a school or similar setting, with young people aged 11-16


• The ability to build rapport with young learners


• The ability to work under the direction of the class teacher as well as using own initiative
