Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, is seeking a SEND English Teacher for a full-time, permanent role starting Monday 2 November 2026. You will deliver high-quality literacy lessons to students aged 11-19 with complex learning needs in a progressive specialist school.

The role requires QTS or equivalent, SEN experience or strong SEN knowledge, and a calm, empathetic classroom approach. You will plan differentiated lessons aligned with EHCP outcomes and work with staff and families

• Experience teaching in an SEN setting (or strong SEN knowledge within a mainstream environment).
• Calm, empathetic and resilient approach to classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, tailored teaching to pupils across KS2-KS4.
• Plan and differentiate engaging lessons to meet EHCP outcomes and developmental milestones.
• Work with SENCO, support staff and parents/carers to provide a holistic approach.

Salary: 1,000- 1,450 per week (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

What We're Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching in an SEN setting (or strong SEN knowledge within a mainstream environment)
• A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to classroom management
• Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to nurturing every child's progress

To be eligible you must:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references
