Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN English Teacher to join a dedicated SEN school in Epping/Harlow. You will teach English to pupils aged 11-18 with diverse SEN/SEMH needs, delivering accessible lessons and tracking progress.

You will work within a supportive team, plan lessons, adapt the curriculum, and contribute to the students' confidence and learning journey. QTS and DBS are expected, with immediate interviews available.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• PGCE or equivalent training preferred.
• Experience in SEN education (secondary preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual needs.
• Teach pupils aged 11–18 with SEN/SEMH needs.
• Adapt curriculum content for varied abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, supportive learning environment.

Job Title: SEN English Teacher

Location: Epping/Harlow

Job Type: Full-time (5 days a week)

Working Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30pm

Start Date: After October Half Term

I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Epping/Harlow. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
• Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
• Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
• Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
• Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
• Support positive behavior management across the classroom.

Candidates Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• PGCE or Equivalent training
• Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred)
• Strong classroom management
• Patient, resilient, adaptable approach
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
