Job summary

Portsmouth City Council's Learning Place in North End, Portsmouth, is seeking an English Functional Skills Tutor to deliver Entry Level through Level 2 courses and support adults in progressing in learning and employment.

You will assess learners, monitor progress, maintain learner records, provide progression guidance, support volunteers, and promote the service within the local community.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status and relevant subject qualifications.
• Experience delivering learning to diverse groups of adults.
• Strong communication, safeguarding awareness, and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging English courses (Entry Level to Level 2).
• Assess and support learners to achieve goals and monitor progress.
• Maintain high-quality learner records.
• Provide progression information and guidance.
• Support volunteers and develop partnerships.
