Job summary

Nova Training in Walsall is seeking an English & Employability Tutor to deliver Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2. This full-time, permanent role involves planning lessons, assessing learners, and meeting KPIs while supporting learners across 14-19 provision in our training centre.

You will hold relevant teaching qualifications and a passion for educating, with a commitment to safeguarding and student progression. Benefits include generous holiday and flexible options.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Functional Skills or Maths and English to Level 2.
• Minimum 2 years teaching in 14-19 provision.
• Full teaching qualifications (Cert Ed, C&G 7407, CTLLS, DTLLS).
• Willingness to undertake any relevant teaching qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2.
• Plan individual learning to meet learner needs and prepare lesson plans.
• Achieve company KPI’s and Individual Performance Plan.
• Plan embedded learning for groups and individuals.
• Develop delivery to maximise progression opportunities for learners.
• Create conditions in training centres to develop learners’ abilities, skills and confidence.
• Regularly assess learners' work.

Hours: Full-Time, Permanent, 37.5 hrs per wk

Location: Walsall (Bloxwich)

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, (depending on experience & qualifications)

Requirements
