Job summary

Hovis in Mitcham is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to drive reliability on bakery production lines. You will diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, perform essential maintenance, and act as the link between the shift team and management.

You will lead a team of skilled engineers, implement improvements, and thrive in a fast-paced FMCG environment. The role offers a structured shift pattern (4 on, 4 off) and opportunities to learn and develop with long-service colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Previous experience as Engineering Team Leader (permanent or stand-in).
• Experience in food, FMCG or industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on bakery production lines.
• Carry out essential machine maintenance to ensure smooth operation and reduce downtime.
• Act as the link between the shift team and management.
• Identify and implement improvements to increase reliability of equipment.
• Lead and develop a team of engineers in a fast-paced environment.
