Pioneer Selection Ltd has partnered with a Bristol FMCG site to recruit an Engineering Team Leader. The role focuses on leading electrical and mechanical maintenance across high-speed production lines, with a 4-on, 4-off days and nights pattern, and a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement.

You will drive maintenance strategies, supervise a technical team, and collaborate with production to maximise uptime, reliability, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical maintenance experience within industrial manufacturing or FMCG.
• Hands-on maintenance across planned, reactive and breakdown scenarios in a fast-paced factory.
• Team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Ability to work a 4-on, 4-off days and nights shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on automated production lines.
• Fault-finding and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime.

Job Role of the Engineering Team Leader.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join a FMCG manufacturing site in Bristol. The company has heavily invested in advanced automation, high-speed production lines, and continuous improvement initiatives, making it an excellent workplace for engineers seeking career development, technical growth, and future leadership opportunities.

You will be responsible for leading an engineering team that will be carrying out both electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and planned preventative maintenance on a range of automated and semi-automated production machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Working on a 4 on, 4 off days and nights shift pattern, you will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving reliability, and supporting production performance across the site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Engineering Team Leader

• Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Hands on experience with pre-planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast paced industrial factory.
• Team Leadership / Supervisory experience
• Ability to work a 4 on, 4 off days and nights shift pattern.

Requirements for the Engineering Team Leader

• Hands-on electrical fault-finding experience.
• Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical maintenance experience (motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatics and hydraulics).
• Basic PLC fault-finding experience advantageous.

Desirable Requirements for the Engineering Team Leader.

• Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.
• Supervisory experience
• Previous experience within FMCG, food, beverage or packaging environments.
