Job summary

Hunter Selection are recruiting an Engineering Team Leader (Electrical Bias) in Bury to lead a hands-on maintenance team at a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The role offers £45,000 to £50,000 DOE plus bonus, healthcare, pension, life assurance and holidays.

You will prioritise breakdowns, coordinate engineers, and drive KPI targets while mentoring the team and developing engineering processes to keep plant safe and productive.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical knowledge in manufacturing.
• Time served or NVQ Level 3+ in Electrical Engineering.
• Self-motivated with ability to influence others.
• Project experience is advantageous.
• Strong communication and IT skills with maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritise breakdowns to ensure quick, effective work.
• Coordinate engineers; ensure reports are completed on time.
• Assist in the performance management of the team.
• Ensure achievement of Engineering KPIs and targets.
• Mentor and support the team.
• Develop the Engineering department to enable business growth.
• Ensure procedures are followed; issues dealt with promptly and fairly.
• Maintain plant and equipment to keep operations safe and running.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and rectify safely and efficiently.
• Ensure reports and records are issued within timescales.

Role Description

• To Manage and Priorities breakdowns ensuring that all work is carried out quickly and effectively.
• To co-ordinate the work of engineers, ensuring all reports and records are completed correctly and issued within the correct timescales.
• Assist in the Performance management of the team.
• To Ensure the achievements of the Engineering KPIs and targets are met.
• Mentor and support the team.
• Assist in the development of the Engineering department to enable the business to grow.
• To ensure all company procedures and rules are adhered to and issues are dealt with fairly, promptly, and consistently.
• To ensure all plant and equipment are maintained and kept operational and safe.
• Quick response to breakdowns and its rectification, ensuring that all work is carried out in an effective and safe manner.
• Ensure all reports and records are completed correctly and issued within the correct timescales.

Skills and Qualifications

• Good Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Knowledge gained within an FMCG environment.
• Time Served, NVQ Level 3 or higher in Electrical Engineering Qualifications
• Self-managed and able to influence others to gain their maximum performance.
• Experience with projects is highly advantageous
• Good communication,IT and engineering maintenance systems skills
