Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader in Wembley to lead a maintenance team in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing setting. The role focuses on both leadership and hands-on maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment, with a 4 on 4 off, 12-hour day shift pattern and a salary up to £59,000 plus benefits.

You will drive improvements, coordinate resources, and collaborate with production to maximise plant performance while ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance engineering experience in FMCG/food manufacturing or fast-paced production.
• Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team-leader experience.
• Experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance.
• Excellent communication and team development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of maintenance engineers across daily operations.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and processing equipment.
• Diagnose and fault-find on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Coordinate engineering resources to ensure effective delivery of maintenance activities.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Monitor engineering KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
• Manage engineering stores and critical spare parts availability.
• Support shutdown activities and oversee contractor management when required.
• Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
• Work closely with production teams to maximise plant performance and efficiency.

Engineering Team Leader position in a well-established FMCG food manufacturer based in Wembley. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased maintenance engineer with leadership experience to advance in a fast-paced production environment. Salary up to £59,000 plus benefits; 4 on 4 off | 12-hour day shifts (no nights).

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on maintenance engineering experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a fast-paced production environment
• Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience
• Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team leader experience
• Experience delivering planned and reactive maintenance
• Excellent communication and team development skills
• Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred
