Job summary

Pioneer Selection - Manufacturing & Industry Recruitment Specialists is recruiting an Engineering Team Leader for a heavy industrial manufacturing site in Gainsborough. The role combines leadership with hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance across a shift pattern (4 on, 4 off days and nights).

You will delegate workloads, coordinate breakdowns and planned maintenance, and drive safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent).
• Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical and mechanical skills.
• Manufacturing background.
• Strong electrical fault-finding experience.
• Experience leading or supervising an engineering team.
• Experience working on industrial plant and production machinery.
• Continuous Improvement and Root Cause Analysis experience.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift engineering team while carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Delegate and prioritise engineering workload, coordinate breakdown response and planned maintenance.
• Support production and drive engineering, safety and housekeeping standards across the site.
• Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement and engineering performance.

Job Role of the Engineering Team Leader

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Engineering Team Leader to join a growing heavy industrial manufacturing business that continues to invest in its people, engineering function and production facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineering professional to lead the shift engineering team while continuing to carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance.

The successful Engineering Team Leader will delegate and prioritise engineering workload, coordinate breakdown response and planned maintenance, support production and drive engineering, safety and housekeeping standards across the site.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements of the Engineering Team Leader

• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent).
• Multi‑Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical and mechanical skills.

Desirable Requirements for the Engineering Team Leader

• Comfortable working at heights.
• Physically fit and able to work within a demanding industrial environment.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Food, FMCG, Agricultural or Heavy Industrial manufacturing experience.
