Job summary

Engineering Team Leader (Electrical Bias) in Bury is seeking a hands-on manager to lead a maintenance-driven team in a fast-paced FMCG facility. You will manage breakdowns, prioritise work, and coordinate engineers to meet KPIs.

The role requires NVQ Level 3+ in Electrical Engineering, strong communication and IT skills, and the ability to influence others. The package includes £45,000–£50,000, plus bonus, healthcare, pension and holidays.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge in FMCG environment.
• Time served / NVQ Level 3+ in electrical engineering.
• Self-managed and able to influence others.
• Experience with projects is advantageous.
• Good communication, IT and engineering maintenance systems skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritise breakdowns to ensure rapid, effective work.
• Coordinate the work of engineers; ensure reports and records are completed on time.
• Assist in performance management of the team.
• Ensure achievement of Engineering KPIs and targets.
• Mentor and support the team.
• Assist in developing the Engineering department to enable business growth.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures; handle issues fairly and promptly.
• Ensure plant and equipment are maintained, safe and operational.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and rectify safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all reports and records are issued within timescales.
