Job summary

Siemens Energy Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a Manager / Team Leader to head a dedicated Grid Automation engineering team. You will steer day-to-day operations, allocate work, manage priorities, and guide engineers through technical and professional challenges.

You will uphold engineering standards, drive process improvements, and represent the domain in discussions with customers and project managers.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience leading engineering teams.
• Strong communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Senior-level expertise in high voltage substation secondary design (protection schematics, AC/DC supply, interlocking, interfaces).

Responsibilities

• Lead Daily Operations: oversee work allocation and priorities within the engineering team.
• Own Capability and Standards: ensure consistent methods and quality across the group.
• Coach and Develop Engineers: identify growth needs and create development plans.
• Act as Senior Point of Contact: represent domain in project discussions with customers and other leads.
• Champion Digitalization: identify and adopt tools to boost efficiency and quality.
