Job summary

Agricultural Recruitment Specialists is seeking an Engineering Supervisor (Feed Manufacturing) to lead a skilled maintenance team at a Bristol site. You will plan maintenance, drive reliability improvements and work closely with production to maximise plant performance, while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires supervisory experience and a mechanical or electrical engineering qualification, with CMMS and PLC familiarity.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering supervisory or team leader roles.
• Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification.
• Experience in feed manufacturing or a similar process industry.
• Strong knowledge of planned maintenance systems and CMMS software.
• Experience with PLC-controlled production equipment.
• Electrical fault-finding skills in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of steam, boilers or compressed air systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the maintenance engineering team.
• Plan and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability and plant performance.
• Manage maintenance schedules and engineering records using a CMMS.
• Work with production to minimise downtime and improve efficiency.
• Investigate recurring equipment issues and implement long‑term solutions.
• Coordinate external contractors and ensure safety and standards.
• Manage engineering stores and spare parts to support maintenance operations.
• Support compliance with statutory inspections and site engineering requirements.
• Provide technical support during breakdowns and participate in on‑call rota.
