Job summary

HPRtalent is seeking a Site Engineering Manager for a food manufacturing site in Bristol. You will lead the engineering strategy and direct a team of managers and engineers to ensure efficient production and maintenance within budget.

You will develop maintenance and capital expenditure plans, manage asset registers, drive a safe culture, and promote a one-team approach with Production and other departments while delivering data-driven performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree educated or equivalent.
• Extensive engineering leadership in a large food production environment.
• Proven site engineering management experience in food manufacturing.
• Track record of developing others and building solid relationships.
• Lean knowledge and multi-skilled or electrically biased would be advantageous.
• Budgeting and financial metrics experience; data analytics capability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a site engineering strategy aligned to production targets.
• Produce monthly performance KPIs for Engineering on site.
• Manage maintenance and capital expenditure budgets; optimise supplier use and inventories.
• Oversee asset register and disposal; ensure safe practices and contractor assessment.
• Lead a one-team approach with production and support departments.
• Drive continuous improvement; set targets for teams and conduct regular PDRs.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses; ensure risk assessments are completed.
