Job summary

CV Technical LTD in Merthyr Tydfil is recruiting for an Engineering Supervisor on a permanent basis at a well-established food manufacturing site.

You will lead a team of Multi Skilled Engineers, drive maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement, with a 4 on 4 off shift pattern and a salary of £50,000 - £52,000.

Qualifications

• Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering qualification.
• Experience supervising or leading an engineering team in manufacturing.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding knowledge.
• PLC knowledge and operational awareness.
• Experience with continuous improvement and Lean methodologies.
• Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.
• Organised, disciplined and able to work under pressure.
• Proactive approach with the ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Multi Skilled Engineers on shift.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Respond effectively to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Provide technical and behavioural support to engineers and apprentices.
• Drive preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as a technical resource for engineering projects and specifications.
• Analyse maintenance and production data to identify areas for improvement.
• Promote best practice across the engineering function.
• Ensure all engineering activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Supervisor to join an established food manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil.

This is a hands on leadership role, responsible for managing a team of Multi Skilled Engineers and ensuring the site maintains continuous production through effective preventative maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background alongside previous experience supervising or leading an engineering team within a manufacturing environment.

• Boiler / steam experience would be advantageous
• Experience with continuous improvement and Lean methodologies
• Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills
• Organised, disciplined and able to work under pressure
• Proactive approach with the ability to work on own initiative
