Job summary

Morrisons is seeking an Engineering Shift Manager to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing site. You will lead the engineering team, drive proactive maintenance, and optimise equipment performance while upholding quality standards.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong communication, and a proven track record in people management within a FMCG environment. You will manage asset care and safety procedures, fostering a disciplined, productive team culture.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent required.
• ONC in mechanical/electrical engineering or BTEC Level 3.
• Experience in FMCG/food industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Minimise machinery downtime through proactive and predictive maintenance.
• Improve equipment performance while maintaining product quality.
• Engage and motivate the engineering team with training and recognition.
• Lead the asset care programme to extend asset life and reduce costs.
• Hands-on involvement in repairing and optimising equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities with the Maintenance team.
• Prepare for crisis incidents and conduct investigations.
• Enforce discipline and manage grievances within the team.
