Job summary

Morrisons is seeking an Engineering Shift Manager to drive maintenance and day-to-day operations on our manufacturing site in the UK. The role focuses on minimising downtime, improving equipment performance, and leading a hands-on engineering team with a strong commitment to quality and safety.

You will manage asset care programmes, coordinate with the Maintenance team, and actively engage staff to deliver reliable production while complying with HACCP and relevant electrical standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent
• Proven track record in an engineering fault finding role in FMCG
• Experience leading and developing a team
• Good understanding of HACCP principles and electrical regulations

Responsibilities

• Minimise machinery downtime through proactive and predictive maintenance.
• Improve equipment performance without compromising quality.
• Engage and develop the engineering team, recognise achievements.
• Lead asset care programmes to maintain and prolong assets' life.
• Hands-on repair and optimisation of equipment assets alongside the team.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities with the Maintenance team to prevent disruptions.
• Handle crisis incidents, accidents, and near misses with investigations and corrective actions.
• Enforce discipline and grievance procedures within the team.
