Job summary

Morrisons seeks an Engineering Shift Manager for its Bradford manufacturing operation. The role centers on leading the engineering team to minimise downtime, drive equipment performance, and coordinate maintenance with the site team.

Ideal candidates will have NVQ 3 or equivalent, FMCG experience, and strong people management, with HACCP knowledge and a proactive, hands-on approach. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering.
• Proven track record in engineering and fault finding in FMCG, ideally food.
• Experience managing people and delivering results through a team.
• Strong HACCP understanding and IEE 18th edition wiring regulations preferred.
• Excellent communication and decisive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Minimizing machinery downtime through proactive and predictive maintenance.
• Improving equipment performance without compromising quality.
• Engage and develop the engineering team.
• Lead and support Morrisons asset care programme.
• Hands-on repair and optimization of assets.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities with the Maintenance team.
• Handle crisis incidents, investigations and corrective actions.
• Enforce discipline and grievance procedures.
