Job summary

Shillito Group is seeking a Health & Safety Risk Assessment and Safe Systems Specialist to lead end-to-end risk assessment and safe system development for engineering and manufacturing. The role will translate practical knowledge into compliant documents and engaging training materials for workforce safety on the shop floor.

You will facilitate structured risk assessment workshops, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure formal sign-offs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Health & Safety professional in engineering or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to facilitate risk assessments and develop safe systems of work.
• Experience writing formal risk assessments, method statements and SWPs.
• Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent written communication and document production capabilities.
• Experience producing visual safety communications and training materials.
• Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and risk management.
• Experience in heavy engineering environments and high-energy processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk assessment workshops with operators and supervisors.
• Develop and maintain Safe Working Procedures with sign-off.
• Produce two-page pictorial summaries for shop floor use.
• Create animated training videos to support workforce training.
• Coordinate with internal or external media providers as needed.
• Maintain version control and auditable output approvals.
