Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Project Leader Engineering in London Heathrow to drive complex engineering projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, collaborate with customers and external partners, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires a degree in engineering, experience with automated/integrated systems, strong planning, risk and budget management, and excellent communication. A professional registration pathway is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering complex engineering projects in dynamic, operationally critical environments balancing customer requirements, technical performance, safety and objectives.
• Experience with automated or complex integrated systems such as baggage handling, material handling, industrial automation, logistics & distribution automation, manufacturing systems, transportation infrastructure.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to balance detailed technical decisions with wider project, operational, customer, and business objectives.
• Working knowledge of engineering project management principles including planning & scheduling, risk management, scope control, stakeholder management, and budget management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard project planning/reporting tools.
• Professionally accredited engineer or willingness to work towards professional registration.

• Support and promote a safety-first culture, embedding health and safety into designs from the outset.
• Lead multidisciplinary internal and external engineering teams, providing clear technical direction and accountability to deliver projects.
• Create and maintain clear, achievable engineering project plans that support collaboration and transparency.
• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
• Manage engineering budgets by identifying risks and opportunities and supporting informed decisions.
• Own and manage delivery of technical solutions to meet performance, quality, safety and customer requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and project management practices.
