Job summary

Vanderlande in the UK is seeking a Project Leader Engineering to drive complex mechanical, electrical or controls projects in the Manchester area. You will lead engineering activities, coordinate with customers and partners, and ensure designs meet safety, sustainability and schedule targets.

The role offers exposure to a multi‑disciplinary team, development of technical leadership skills, and opportunities for career progression within a global automation leader.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical, electrical, controls, or related engineering discipline.
• Experience on complex engineering projects in dynamic or system‑critical environments.
• Strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Understanding of project management principles in engineering contexts.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with MS Office for planning and reporting.
• Engineering accreditation or commitment to pursue it with support.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate engineering activities across projects with internal and external stakeholders.
• Create and maintain clear engineering project plans to support collaboration and transparency.
• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage engineering budgets by identifying risks and opportunities and supporting informed decisions.
• Act as a technical partner to customers and external parties meeting quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and project management practices.
