Job summary

Proactive Global in London is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to lead a sizeable maintenance engineering team within a well-established manufacturing operation. The role emphasises people management, coaching, and engineering delivery in a structured environment.

You will drive performance, coach engineers, and manage contractors to ensure safe, efficient operations, with a strong focus on improving reliability and equipment availability.

Qualifications

• Experience leading engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Excellent communication and people-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of Maintenance Engineers
• Conduct regular 1-to-1s, performance reviews and appraisals
• Set objectives and development plans, manage performance and attendance
• Coordinate with Engineering Manager to set priorities and allocate work
• Manage contractors and external engineering suppliers to ensure safety and standards
• Monitor maintenance KPIs and support planned and reactive maintenance
• Collaborate with Production and other departments to maximise equipment availability
• Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
