Job summary

CloudBees is hiring a Sr. Manager, Engineering Operations in London. You will lead a distributed team responsible for cloud governance, security controls, and shared engineering systems.

Expect to shape projects, drive operational excellence, and collaborate across product security, SRE, and FinOps teams. The role emphasizes hands-on management, cross-functional leadership, and using AI to reduce toil while improving delivery speed and governance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing software engineering teams across time zones
• 3+ years of hands-on experience on SaaS products
• 4+ years of hands-on software engineering, including infrastructure
• 4+ years building and operating complex systems in production, including cloud infrastructure and governance
• Experience owning multi-quarter strategy or roadmap
• Strong written and verbal English communication

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of about 5 engineers across infrastructure and software
• Shape projects and take on non-critical-path work to avoid delays
• Collaborate with tooling teams and other parts of Engineering Systems
• Own cloud governance, security, and cost reporting
• Plan software, staffing, and tooling needs and adjust team structure as needed
• Engage in deep-dive troubleshooting and post-mortems
• Drive improvements in quality, reliability, and developer velocity
