Gap Technical Ltd is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the maintenance and engineering function at a busy packaging manufacturing site in Northamptonshire. You will drive equipment reliability, reduce downtime and support continuous improvement across a fast-paced operation.

Working with Production and Operations, you will own maintenance strategies, manage PPM and projects, and develop a high performing team while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or similar role in manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
• Experience leading engineering teams and maintenance strategies.
• Proactive troubleshooting and continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience within plastics processing, packaging or high‑volume manufacturing would be advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Lead, motivate and develop the engineering and maintenance team.
• Manage planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
• Reduce machinery breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement, productivity and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Manage engineering projects, contractors, budgets and spare parts.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and engineering procedures.
• Work collaboratively with Production to maximise output and minimise disruption.
