Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd. is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager for a busy food manufacturing site in Wrexham. The role leads the engineering and maintenance team to deliver a reliable maintenance service for production.

You will report to the Head of Engineering and drive team performance, development and equipment reliability within a safety‑conscious environment. The position emphasises people leadership, cross‑functional collaboration and continuous improvement with a strong focus on

Qualifications

Experience leading an engineering or maintenance team in a manufacturing environment.
Food manufacturing or FMCG experience is advantageous.
Strong people-management and communication skills.
Solid knowledge of planned, preventive and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage and develop the site engineering and maintenance team.
Set clear expectations and ensure the team delivers against maintenance targets.
Manage team performance, development, training and reviews.
Prioritise work around production demands and ensure PMs are completed.
Support breakdowns and engineering issues to resolve problems quickly.
Monitor equipment reliability and identify recurring issues for improvement.
Collaborate with Production to minimise downtime and maintain maintenance service.
Manage engineering contractors and external support when required.
Ensure safety compliance and maintenance records are up to date.
Support projects, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
