Qualifications

• Several years' experience managing software engineering teams.
• Substantial background in software development before moving into leadership.
• Experience leading teams through growth and change.
• Strong technical understanding of modern software engineering principles.
• Experience with complex, customer-facing digital products.
• Ability to understand technical challenges and make sound decisions.
• Proven track record of coaching and developing engineers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercially aware approach balancing quality with delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers with coaching and technical leadership.
• Create a high-performing engineering culture focused on quality and collaboration.
• Work with Product and technology partners to translate requirements into solutions.
• Contribute to engineering strategy, technical decision-making and long-term plans.
• Support recruitment and growth of the engineering team.
• Champion best practices and raise engineering standards.
• Ensure teams deliver reliable and maintainable software.
• Identify opportunities to improve development efficiency and productivity.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
