Morson Human Resources Limited is assisting a growing technology business in Manchester to find an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a software engineering team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality software and evolving engineering practices in a fast-moving environment.

The successful candidate will guide team growth, collaborate with Product and technology stakeholders, and shape engineering strategy while balancing delivery with technical excellence.

Formación

• Several years’ experience managing software engineering teams.
• Substantial background in software development before moving into leadership.
• Experience leading teams through growth and organisational change.
• Strong technical understanding of modern software engineering principles.
• Experience working on complex, customer-facing digital products.
• Ability to understand technical challenges and make sound engineering decisions.
• Proven coaching, mentoring and developing engineers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercially aware approach balancing technical quality with delivery and business objectives.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers, providing coaching, mentoring and technical leadership.

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Encourage a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, learning from challenges and continuously improving the technology estate.

Software Engineering Manager

Manchester | Permanent | Up to £110,000 + Bonus

The Opportunity

A growing technology business is looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join its Manchester-based technology team.

This is a key leadership position, offering the opportunity to influence how engineering teams operate, develop technical talent and contribute to the continued evolution of a successful digital product environment.

You’ll be joining an established engineering function with ambitious plans for growth, working alongside product and technology colleagues to deliver high-quality software and continuously improve the way teams build and operate technology.

The Role

As Software Engineering Manager, you will:

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers, providing coaching, mentoring and technical leadership.

You should have:
