Job summary

Intermedia Intelligent Communications in the United Kingdom is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers, translating strategy into an executable engineering roadmap and delivering secure, scalable software across our cloud-based services.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and partner with Product, AI/ML, Data, and DevOps to ensure high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced, AI-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading engineering teams delivering production software.
• Strong backend, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud architectures.
• Experience guiding full software lifecycle from planning to production.
• Proven ability to manage priorities, risks, and delivery across complex initiatives.
• Experience recruiting, mentoring, and supporting engineers' career growth.
• Excellent collaboration with Product, AI/ML, Data, and DevOps teams.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and best engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of software engineers.
• Own execution across the software development lifecycle.
• Partner with Product, AI/ML, Data, and business stakeholders to translate strategy into priorities.
• Establish architecture and engineering approaches for scalable backend services and data processing.
• Drive predictable delivery by setting priorities and removing obstacles.
• Ensure quality, scalability, reliability, performance, security, and observability.
• Foster engineering practices: reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and production readiness.
• Collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to deliver customer value.
• Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement in reliability and efficiency.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and career development for engineers.
