Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager for a client-side role in Essex. You will oversee all electrical and mechanical services across a prestigious building, manage contracts, and lead project work within a busy in-house engineering and property team.

The role requires a strong maintenance engineering background, experience in commercial buildings, and robust budget/contract management skills. Essex location reduces London commuting for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Fully electrically or mechanically qualified to HNC level.
• Excellent knowledge of building services systems.
• Previous experience within commercial buildings.
• Excellent people skills.
• Ability to deal with people at all levels.
• Excel - advanced.
• Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems.
• Strong communication skills - verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Control of all mechanical services, together with management of all associated engineering contracts.
• Control of all building services, infrastructure, maintenance and repairs.
• Project management of any building refurbishment projects.
• Ensure plant, back up and monitoring systems are maintained in good functioning order; test essential systems regularly per legislation.
• Control of trouble-shooting engineering support.
• Day-to-day support and adjustment of infrastructure; liaise with user groups; prepare documentation for changes; appoint contractors and supervise sites.
• Control and management of relevant budgets.
• Control of relevant outsourced contracts.
• Ensure procedures are adhered to by contractors and legislation.
• Prepare tender documents/benchmarking for relevant contracts.
• Ensure cost effectiveness against market trends and achieve value for money.
