Job summary

Carbolite Gero Ltd. in the Peak District seeks an Engineering Manager Bespoke Products to oversee customer-specific developments, define design and manage projects. The role centers on delivering end-to-end furnace projects and advancing engineering excellence for a global client base.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure designs meet high quality and reliability standards while driving continuous improvements in processes and practices.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Solid, demonstrable experience of successfully leading multi-discipline Engineering functions.
• Proven project management capability, ideally delivered complex, custom or bespoke projects.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across production, sales, purchasing and management.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (Solid Edge) and PLM systems (Teamcenter).
• Knowledge of mechanisms, gearing and basic pneumatics.
• Understanding of welding and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of custom furnace projects from concept and design through manufacture, testing and commissioning.
• Provide hands-on project management across concurrent custom builds.
• Mentor, guide and lead Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Project Managers.
• Act as a senior technical contact for a global customer base across academia and industry.
• Drive innovations and engineering excellence focused on customer needs.
• Hold Engineering teams to high quality and reliability standards.
• Lead continuous improvement of Engineering procedures and practices.
