Job summary

Carbolite Gero Ltd, based near the Peak District, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead engineering projects from design to customer delivery. You will handle quotations, product engineering, logistics, installation and commissioning, driving market-leading products globally.

The role involves coordinating internal and external teams, ensuring milestones are met, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in a scientific/technical discipline (e.g., mechanical engineering, materials sciences or physics) or equivalent work level.
• Accomplished design engineer able to present technical information to mechanical and electrical designers.
• Knowledge of properties and treatment of technical materials (ceramics, metals).
• Experience with technically demanding products and knowledge of relevant directives and safety standards.
• Project management qualifications (Prince2 advantageous) and proven experience in managing cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills; able to lead teams and work on own initiative; good planning and prioritisation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out technical consultations with customers to determine project specifications.
• Agree design, quality standards, and budget for projects.
• Create and maintain project documents.
• Negotiate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage multiple projects ensuring on-time delivery within budget and technical requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, sales and purchasing.
• Provide information and advice to technical and non-technical colleagues and customers.
• Manage customer contracts and articulate milestones and requirements across the company.
• Oversee installation, commissioning and documentation such as risk assessments and method statements.
• Support International Sales partners.
