A well-established and expanding manufacturer in the Wrexham area is looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team. This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced production environment, offering both strategic responsibility and hands-on involvement.

Role Responsibilities:
As Site Engineering Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring engineering operations are safe, efficient, and aligned with business goals. Your core duties will include:
  • Leading and developing a team of shift engineers through mentoring, appraisals, and performance management
  • Overseeing the delivery of planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support
  • Ensuring compliance with all site health and safety requirements
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimise plant performance and energy use
  • Coordinating with contractors and third-party engineers on-site
  • Supporting the integration of new equipment and technologies
  • Working collaboratively with technical and project teams to maintain audit-readiness and production efficiency
  • Managing team workload, capacity planning, and resourcing effectively
  • Building strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment and results

What We're Looking For:
Essential:
  • Proven experience in a similar engineering leadership role
  • Time-served multi-skilled engineer (electrical or mechanical)
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop technical teams
  • Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach when needed.
Desirable:
  • Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG
  • Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
