Overview
Engineering Managers with deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot or Python and AWS to lead backend systems. This role combines strong technical skills, product ownership, and team management to deliver robust, scalable solutions that meet business needs.
Responsibilities
- System Ownership: Define and maintain the technical roadmap for backend services, with a focus on AI integration and AWS ecosystems.
- Feature Refinement: Collaborate with stakeholders to transform user stories into actionable features that align with business priorities.
- AI Innovation: Design and implement solutions using AWS Bedrock or other generative AI frameworks to enhance system capabilities.
- Technical Leadership: Peer review code, enforce development standards, and ensure systems are secure, scalable, and maintainable.
- Team Management: Mentor and lead backend developers, fostering growth and collaboration.
- Event-Driven Architecture: Design and implement event-driven workflows using Kafka for real-time, distributed systems.
- Collaboration: Partner with frontend and DevOps teams to ensure end-to-end solution delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with AWS services, including AWS Connect and Bedrock.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Telecoms experience and/or experience in a startup or PE environment.
- Expertise in event-driven architecture and Kafka.
- Ability to think strategically, provide practical solutions, and make sound decisions in complex and evolving product and customer journey environments.
- Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to build and motivate teams, manage change, and drive a customer- and product-focused culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
