Job summary

SF Partners, in partnership with a well-established UK business, seeks an Engineering Manager to build and lead an engineering function across multiple UK sites with travel across the UK. You will own the roadmap for engineering, drive improvements, and standardise processes to raise asset reliability.

You’ll manage a small team and oversee preventative maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with COMAH, HSE, and industry best practices while delivering strategic projects and infrastructure

Qualifications

• Significant engineering leadership experience (typically around 10+ years).
• Experience within chemical industry or chemical distribution sector.
• An Engineering qualification; Chemical Engineering degree advantageous.
• Strong understanding of COMAH regulations and highly regulated environments.
• Experience implementing preventative maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering function across multiple UK sites.
• Report to the Managing Director, setting strategic engineering direction.
• Manage and develop a team of engineers across the business.
• Implement a company-wide preventative maintenance strategy.
• Develop long-term asset management plans for ageing plant and equipment.
• Identify opportunities to reduce external engineering costs by building internal capability.
• Lead CAPEX projects and civil, electrical works across depots.
• Standardise engineering processes across locations.
• Conduct site visits to review plant condition and future investment needs.
• Ensure compliance with COMAH regulations and HSE requirements.
