Job summary

Wise is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead for the Consumer Onboarding team. You will guide a skilled group of engineers to shape roadmap, set technical vision, and deliver scalable onboarding experiences for customers worldwide.

You’ll partner with product managers, data analysts, and designers, focusing on high-quality software, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration. Relocation and visa support are provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and mentoring software engineers.
• Experience building customer-facing products.
• Strong background in OOP languages (Java or similar) and modern technology stacks.
• Experience with distributed, high-scale systems and microservices architectures.
• Excellent communication to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor the Consumer Onboarding engineering team.
• Shape the roadmap and set the technical and product vision with product managers and designers.
• Ensure delivery of robust, scalable onboarding flows and user journeys.
• Own hiring, growth, and development of the team and its impact at Wise.
• Collaborate with other engineering leads to align with the broader technical strategy.
