Job summary

Wise London is seeking a Senior Engineering Lead for Business Onboarding to shape and deliver scalable onboarding flows. You will lead engineers across multiple locations, collaborate with product managers and designers, and drive the roadmap with a customer-focused mindset.

You will coach and mentor teams, maintain high-quality standards, and own hiring and team development. The role demands strong communication and a passion for building distributed, scalable systems using Java-based tech

Qualifications

• Strong, hands-on technical experience in OOP languages (Java) and modern technology stacks.
• Experience leading and mentoring software engineers.
• Strong product and customer mindset with experience building customer facing products.
• Experience building distributed, high scalability systems and microservices architectures.
• Excellent communicator who can articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Thrives in a collaborative environment with cross-functional peers like designers, product managers, and analysts.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of engineers across multiple locations.
• Shape the roadmap, and set the technical and product vision to deliver goals robustly and scalably.
• Ensure resources and planning to commit to and deliver the roadmap.
• Maintain high standards for quality and lead by example.
• Own the health and productivity of engineers and foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other engineering leads and teams to align with wider technical strategy.
• Own hiring, growth and development of the team and its impact at Wise.
