Qualifications

• Strong hands-on technical experience in OOP languages (Java or similar) and modern tech stacks including REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Architect for scale and efficiency, leading design of integration platforms to streamline onboarding and reduce engineering effort.
• Proven experience in leading and mentoring software engineers and helping them grow.
• Strong product and customer mindset with experience building customer-facing products.
• Experience with distributed, high-scalability systems and microservices architectures.
• Excellent communicator able to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Thrives in a collaborative environment with cross-functional peers.

Responsibilities

• Shape the roadmap and set technical/product vision with Product and cross-functional teams.
• Lead, coach, and mentor engineers to grow and remove blockers.
• Ensure strong execution with clear planning and realistic commitments.
• Stay close to technology and product, upholding high engineering standards.
• Foster ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams.
• Coordinate with Wise engineering leads to align with broader strategy and architecture.
• Own hiring, development, and long-term impact of the team.
