McLaren Racing offers a 13-month Engineering Internship starting July 2027, designed to contribute to on-track performance while exposing you to how a Formula 1 team operates. The placement spans Aerodynamics, Design, Performance, and Racing, with assessment days at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking and a multi-stage selection process.
You will work on meaningful projects under guidance from senior engineers, develop new skills, and join a high-performing team.

Our 13-month Engineering Internship offers you the opportunity to contribute to McLaren Racing’s performance while gaining first-hand experience of how a Formula 1 team operates. The placement will begin in July 2027 and sit within one of four areas:
Applications will close on Wednesday 16th September. There will be a second round of assessment sent on the Friday 18th September to be completed by the Monday 21st September.
The intern assessment days will be at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking on Wednesday 14th October, Thursday 15th October and Friday 16th October 2026. If you are selected to attend the assessment day, you will be notified the week prior.
What You’ll Do
You will take responsibility for meaningful engineering projects that can directly influence on-track performance. With guidance and support from experienced colleagues, you will apply your existing knowledge, develop new skills and contribute as part of a collaborative, high-performing team.
