Job summary

Training 2000, in partnership with Blackburn College, is hiring an Engineering Instructor - Fabrication and Welding at the Furthergate Business Park, Blackburn. The role combines practical workshop delivery with classroom theory to grow the region’s engineering talent.

You will teach fabrication and welding to apprentices from varied backgrounds, sharing industry expertise and helping learners achieve qualifications and career ambitions.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Qualification in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT.
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Level 3 Teaching Qualification and Assessor Award, or willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality practical and theoretical learning in Fabrication and Welding.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge learners.
  • Support apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them achieve their qualifications and career aspirations.
  • Develop vocational and work-related skills that meet industry standards and employer expectations.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where learners can thrive.
  • Contribute to the continued success and growth of our Engineering provision.

Salary Business Support, £30,500 - £32,500 plus up to £3,500 market premium if hold a minimum of a Level 3 Engineering qualification in a relevant subject area alongside relevant industry experience.

As we continue to invest in our facilities, expertise and apprenticeship provision, we are looking for a passionate Engineering Instructor - Fabrication and Welding to join our Engineering team based at the Furthergate Business Park, Harwood Street, Blackburn.

About the Role

Working with Engineering Apprentices from a variety of industries and backgrounds, you will share your industry expertise through engaging practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory delivery. Whether supporting school leavers beginning their careers or experienced employees developing new skills, you will help learners build the knowledge, confidence and behaviours needed to succeed in industry.

You will:

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is passionate about sharing their industry experience and helping others succeed.

You will need to have:

  • Level 2 Qualification in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Level 3 Teaching Qualification and Assessor Award, or a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.
