Job summary

TipTopJob in Glasgow is seeking an Engineering Geologist to join our growing team. You will contribute to ground investigations across Scotland and the wider UK, with a balanced mix of site-based and office-based duties.

Working with an established geotechnical group, you will supervise site investigations, log soil and rock to British Standards, produce factual reports and support geotechnical assessments to help deliver infrastructure and energy projects safely and to high technical standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering Geology, Geology, Earth Sciences or a related discipline.
• Previous experience within a ground investigation or engineering geology role.
• Confident supervising site investigations and subcontractors.
• Experienced in logging soil and rock to current British Standards.
• Factual ground investigation reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ground investigations, including rotary, cable percussion and window sample drilling.
• Log soil and rock in accordance with current British Standards.
• Oversee trial pitting, soakaway testing and in:situ testing.
• Produce factual ground investigation reports.
• Schedule and review geotechnical laboratory testing.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and the wider design team.
• Assist with geotechnical assessments and interpretation of ground conditions.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to a high technical standard.
