Job summary

Amentum is expanding its UK Ground Engineering capability to support diverse projects across Defence, Nuclear, Environment and critical infrastructure sectors. We seek Engineering Geologists and Geotechnical Engineers at Consultant and Senior levels with GI, geotechnical analysis and design experience.

Roles involve office and site work across the UK, with Harwell, Oxfordshire as a preferred base. Travel to project locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Chartership with a relevant professional body (CEng or CGeol) would be beneficial for Senior role.
• Experience in ground investigations and site-based GI activities; interpretation of field/lab data.
• Ability to plan, supervise and deliver geotechnical/engineering geological work and reports.

Responsibilities

• Support identification, investigation and management of ground-related risks across projects.
• Prepare geotechnical and engineering geological desk studies and reports.
• Plan and supervise land and overwater ground investigations; develop scopes and specifications.
• Log and interpret soils/rocks to relevant standards; develop ground models.
• Provide practical ground condition advice to project teams and clients.
