Job summary

Amentum is expanding its UK Ground Engineering capability to support diverse Defence, Nuclear, Environment and infrastructure projects. We seek Engineering Geologists and Geotechnical Engineers at Consultant and Senior levels, with expertise in ground investigation and geotechnical design.

Roles are based in Harwell, Oxfordshire with other UK offices available. The work blends office and site activity, including fieldwork across the UK, and offers professional development and Chartered

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or related ground engineering discipline
• Postgraduate qualification advantageous but not essential
• Chartership with a relevant professional body would be beneficial for Senior role
• Experience with ground investigations and interpretation of field/lab data
• Understanding of soil/rock behaviour and geotechnical principles
• Experience preparing geotechnical desk studies and interpretative reports
• Knowledge of geotechnical analysis applicable to your background

Responsibilities

• Prepare geotechnical and engineering geological desk studies and interpret historical data
• Plan and supervise land and overwater ground investigations with appropriate scopes and schedules
• Conduct field mapping and geomorphological assessments
• Log and interpret soil and rock per relevant standards
• Prepare ground investigation reports and geotechnical assessments
• Develop and refine ground models and identify hazards/constraints
• Interpret geological/hydrogeological data to support project teams
• Provide practical ground condition advice to multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to bids, proposals and scopes of work
• Support technical construction assurance and site observations
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define scope and deliverables
