Job summary

Amentum in the UK is seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer to lead the geotechnical design and technical delivery of major projects from concept through detailed design and construction support.

You will apply advanced numerical modelling with PLAXIS or FLAC, assess foundations and earthworks, review ground investigation data, and collaborate with structural, seismic, nuclear, and environmental specialists while developing new business and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering with MSc or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent preferred.
• Extensive experience in geotechnical design consultancy and project delivery.
• Proficiency with PLAXIS and FLAC or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical design and technical delivery on major projects.
• Perform advanced numerical modelling analyses.
• Assess foundations, earthworks, and soil-structure interaction.
• Review ground investigation data to develop robust designs.
• Support business development by nurturing client relationships.
