Job summary

Lead a high-performing organisation, define standards, governance and AI-enabled delivery while prioritising value, risk management and regulatory considerations.

The role drives platform engineering, developer tooling, automation and DevSecOps to enable safe, fast software delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading large engineering organisations.
• Experience introducing AI-assisted engineering practices (coding assistants, automation).
• Strong understanding of quality engineering, test automation and secure software development.
• Ability to build high-performing teams and cultures focused on excellence and accountability.
• Experience aligning engineering outcomes with business strategy and customer needs.
• Knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, cloud technologies, CI/CD and secure software development.
• Experience improving developer productivity via platform engineering and self-service tooling.
• Demonstrated capability to influence at Executive level.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned to priorities.
• Establish the engineering operating model with clear roles and decision rights.
• Provide technical leadership while ensuring governance supports pace and quality.
• Drive AI-enabled software engineering governance and safe adoption of AI tools.
• Lead platform engineering, developer tooling and automation to reduce delivery friction.
• Advance DevEx with tools, environments and processes for efficient development.
• Promote modular, API-driven, event-driven architectures.
• Oversee security integration across the lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.
