Job summary

Arriva Merseyside Limited, Speke Depot, is recruiting an Engineering Chargehand to oversee routine servicing, diagnostics and maintenance to DVSA and Arriva standards.

You will lead a hands-on team, support MOT prep, and drive reliability and uptime, with a PCV licence training and progression opportunities. The role offers a permanent full-time contract, 39 hours per week, 5 shifts over 7 days, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension, 25 days leave and discounted travel.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ / IRTEC qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience in PSV or HGV maintenance.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Full UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• Ability to pass a PCV pre-employment medical.
• Desirable: experience inspecting vehicles for scheduled maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and systems.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs to DVSA and Arriva standards.
• Performing diagnostic checks and fault finding to ensure vehicle reliability.
• Supporting MOT prep, quality checks, and preventative maintenance.
• Working to continuously improve vehicle performance and uptime.
