Job summary

Arriva Kent & Surrey Limited seeks an experienced Skilled Shift PSV Mechanic at the Hemel Hempstead depot. The role covers servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards, with diagnostic fault finding for a fleet of buses and coaches to ensure high reliability.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 PSV/HGV maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• Full UK driving licence (6 points or less).

• MOT preparation and planned maintenance campaigns.
• Diagnostics and fault diagnosis to ensure reliability.
• Attend roadside breakdowns as required.

Job description

We are looking for experienced and ambitious Skilled Shift PSV Mechanic to join Arriva, based at our Hemel Hempstead depot. As a PSV Engineer, your role would involve carrying out planned and preventative maintenance along with diagnostic fault finding and reactive repairs to a fleet of commercially operated buses & coaches, to the strict standards set by both Arriva, and the DVSA.

The role of a PSV Mechanic will involve:

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
• MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA).
• Attending roadside breakdowns.

Requirements of a PSV Mechanic:

• Qualifications for PSV/HGV maintenance and repair - Minimum of NVQ level 3 or any equivalent international qualification (will require confirmation).
• A full UK driving licence (6 points or less).
• Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.
