Job summary

Arriva Durham County Limited is seeking a PSV Chargehand based at Darlington Depot. The role offers £19.03 per hour with overtime opportunities and a permanent, full-time contract.

Expect 39 hours per week with benefits including free travel for you and a family member, pension, and generous holiday entitlement. Key responsibilities include servicing and maintenance to DVSA standards, driving improvements in vehicle reliability, MOT prep, and defect diagnosis to Arriva standards.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/IRTEC or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of PSV or HGV maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence (6 points or less) required.
• Fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
• MOT preparation, planned maintenance campaigns and quality checks.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva standards.

Job description

An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for a PSV Chargehand to join Arriva, based at our Darlington Depot.

The role will involve:

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards
• Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability
• MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA)

Requirements:

• Level 3 NVQ/IRTEC Qualification (Or equivalent)
• Knowledge of PSV or HGV maintenance
• Knowledge of engineering procedures and Health & Safety legislation
• Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance
• Electrical circuits and systems knowledge - Desirable but not essential
• A full UK driving licence (6 points or less) - essential
• Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical - essential
