Job summary

SWARCO UK is seeking an Apprentice Engineer to develop your engineering skills while working with experienced Engineers across our Urban portfolio, including traffic signals and ITS equipment.

You will gain hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding of roadside technology, while combining practical on-the-job training with structured learning toward a recognised engineering qualification.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications, for the apprenticeship programme.
• Interest in electrical/electronic engineering, technology or how things work.
• Willingness to learn and complete the apprenticeship training and assessments.
• Practical problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Good communication and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Engineers with planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Learn to inspect, maintain, test and repair traffic signals, signs and ITS equipment.
• Assist with fault-finding and identifying issues under supervision.
• Develop understanding of electrical and electronic engineering principles.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures on highways and customer sites.
