Job summary

First Bus in Fulwell is seeking an Engineering Garage Support Assistant to help maintain day-to-day administration of the Engineering department.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will process weekly payroll, manage databases and fleet records, book MOTs, raise purchase orders, and respond to phone and email enquiries. The role requires strong IT skills and excellent organisational abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in an administrative position.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and initiative.
• Ability to use initiative to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on time.
• Maintain engineering databases and fleet records.
• Raise purchase orders for contractors.
• Compile ramp reports.
• Manage and maintain employee files.
• Book MOTs, services and repairs for support vehicles.
• Ensure calibrations are in date and displayed.
• Respond to enquiries by telephone and email.
• Provide administrative support to engineering management.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and reporting procedures.
